followandreblog: robcham: So this is a thing I made for Ang Nawawala, a film by Marie Jamora that premiered as part of Cinemalaya this year. They gave it away as buttons and as an exclusive shirt during press screenings. It’s also an alternate poster? Yeah.  If you haven’t seen it, you can check their facebook page and tumblr for updates for when other screenings are happening. I saw it during the Gala night (Thanks for the free tickets), it was a pretty solid film. I liked it. Mara Coson gives a better review of the film than I ever could. Right now, the people behind the film are giving this shirt away as part of their incentives over at their Artiste Connect page trying to fund its release and distribution so it can be seen outside of just Cinemalaya. If you wanna help see that it gets a wider release, do check the Artiste Connect page out.  Huzzah local independent cinema. What a beauty.

united-nations: Take a look at New York City’s Empire State Building which is currently lit up in white, blue and purple in celebration of World Oceans Day! White at the top represents the shallowest, sunlit waters and also the polar ice cap. The blue represents the slightly deeper ocean waters, and the purple even deeper waters in the ocean. The unlit portions, or black, represent those parts of the ocean where the sun does not reach. The overall representation covers all aspects, and all parts, of the ocean, not just the surface that we can see.  Related infographic on why oceans are part of the Future We Want
